JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Raheen Junior Footballers are right back in contention to qualify for the Junior B Championship Semi Final as they just scraped over the line to get the win they needed by the minimum margin against Ballycumber in the penultimate round last Tuesday week on a scoreline of 0-15 to 1-11. Raheen started brightly with the first 4 points before Ballycumber got off the mark with their first point on 13 mins. The sides then exchanged 4 points apiece for the remainder of the half to give Raheen the lead at the break 0-08 to 0-05. The sides swapped 2 points each early in the second half as Ballycumber then added 2 more points to cut the lead to just the minimum before getting their goal on 13 mins and a point midway through the half to lead by 3. Raheen dug in as they managed 5 points without reply over the next 10 mins, 4 from frees with the other being the score of the night from Noel Gorman from out near the corner to lead by 2. This is how it remained until deep in stoppage time when a goal bound shot by Ballycumber just crept over the bar with the final whistle coming from the kickout.
