St. Rynagh's avenged last year's county final defeat to Coolderry to advance to the last four of the Offaly SHC at St. Brendan's Park, Birr yesterday.

Despite being without key forwards Stephen Quirke and Stephen Wynne, Francis Forde's charges eased to a 0-25 to 0-17 victory with Matthew Moloney excelling from frees. In yesterday's other quarter-final in Birr, Kinnitty scored two late goals to pip Shinrone on a 2-20 to 2-18 scoreline.

The other names in the hat for tomorrow night's semi-final draw are Kilcormac/Killoughey and Birr. Ciaran Slevin's haul of 0-9 from frees proved crucial as Martin Fogarty's double Ks held on for a 0-20 to 3-10 win over Seir Kieran. Also on Saturday, Birr overcame Belmont by 1-21 to 2-11.
