Offaly Senior Football Championship

Rhode Senior Footballers got  Championship off to a winning start by  beating Tullamore in the first round in Oconnor park Tullamore last Saturday evening  giving Paschal kellaghan  his first championship win as manager. Rhode led by 12 points to 0-3 Points at Half-time.  Rhode kicked on in the second half kicking a further eight points to win the game  Full- time Score Rhode 0-20 Tullamore 1-11.

Rhode will now play Edenderry in about two weeks time.

Rhode Intermediates

Rhode Intermediates took  on Erin Rovers in the Championship  on Sunday morning last in Clara GAA grounds. Rhode fought hard in the first half leaving them win a two point lead at the interval 1-06 to 0-7. In the second half Erin Rovers came out all guns blazing and despite a fight back from Rhode Erin Rovers won out on a score-line of 1-14 to 1-09 .

Rhode will face Bracknagh in the next round.

Junior B Championship

Rhode Junior B's got the Championship off to winning ways  beating Tullamore in Fr.Dowling Park Rhode  on Sunday evening last. Rhode led at Half Time 0-6pts to 0-04. Rhode looked always in control of the game and at then end won out with 1-10 to 1-08 victory.

Rhode Minor Footballers

Rhode Minors went to O'Brien Park Tullamore last Wednesday evening with the best of intentions of getting a much needed win in the Second round of the Championship despite missing 5 players due to injury and others on holidays.  Rhode put up a battle throughout the game but unfortunately Tuulamore were to good on the end beating Rhode on a score-line of 5-10 to 1-09.

Rhode U,14s

Rhode U'14s were beaten by a better St.Vincent's side in Fr.Dowling Park Rhode on Friday evening last with the final score reading 2-11 to 0-07pts .

Kelloggs GAA Cul camps

Over 150 Kids took part in the Kelloggs GAA Cul camps in Fr.Dowling Park Rhode  which took place from the Monday to the Friday of last week.  Rhode camp is growing in attendence over  the last few years which is a great tribute to the footballing skills which the kids learn by attending the camp. The Sun shone down throughout and by all accounts great enjoyment was had by all. It is with certainty I can say that there is a lot of talent coming up the ranks whether Boy or girl.  Of Course none of this would be possible with the the coaches  headed up by Keith McGuiness   (Edenderry ) a big thank you to them .

Lotto

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the19th of July for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 4 14 16 23.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Doyles for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €100 each

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!
