G.A.A CLUB NOTES

LOTTO

The numbers drawn in the Lotto draw which took place on Monday 13 June 2016 were 03 12 17 28. There was No Jackpot Winner of €5,400 and 2 Match 3 Winners [John Sheeran C/O Doyle's; Rachel Hackett C/O John Hackett] (€100 Each). Next week's draw will take place in Doyle's, Killeigh on Monday 27 June 2016.

 

DIV 2 FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Raheen Senior Footballers maintained their unbeaten start to phase 2 of the League as they salvaged a draw in their Rd 2 meeting with Tubber last Thursday evening in Tubber on a scoreline of 1-09 apiece. Raheen could do no wrong early in the first half asplaying with the breeze they opened up a lead of 1-07 to 0-02 after just 20 mins with the goal coming on 14 mins when midfielder Padraig Bracken forced his way into the square where he laid if off to the inrunning Adam Kelly who dummied first before shooting to the left corner of the net. Tubber responded with 3 points before the break and so at halftime Raheen led 1-07 to 0-05. In the second half Tubber drew extra players back behind the ball and it worked as they scored 5 points in a row by the midpoint of the half to trail by just the minimum and they went in front with 8 mins left as Bernard Allen got in to score a goal but Raheen came back as Danny McEvoy hit over 2 late points to claim the draw.

DIVISION 6 FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Raheen Junior Footballers continue their Div 6 League campaign against neighbours Ballinagar this Thursday evening (23 June) @ 8pm in Ballinagar in the Penultimate Round. All Support would be appreciated.

10K & 5K FUN RUN

There was a very good turnout of competitors who took part in the Ballinagar 10K & 5K Fun Run last Friday evening in aid of Na Fianna Football Club and the Club would like to thank everybody who took part and helped out making the event an overwhelming success.

 

NA FIANNA FOOTBALL - FEILE FUNDRAISING DRAW RESULTS

Draw took place on Friday 17 June in Neds Bar, Ballinagar. The Results are:

ALL IRELAND FOOTBALL FEILE

All Roads lead to Cork this weekend as Na Fianna U14 Footballers will be representing Offaly in Div 2 of the All Ireland Feile Peil na Nog. Na Fianna will be hosted by the Eire Óg club in Ovens just outside Ballincollig in Cork. It will be a very busy weekend for the boys as they will play at least 4 games on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The Schedule of group games are as follows: Rd1 - Friday @ 5:45pm - Na Fianna V Killeavy St Moninna (Armagh) in Eire Og; Rd2 - Friday & 6:30pm - Na Fianna V Ballincollig in Eire Og; Rd3 - Saturday @ 10:15am - Na Fianna V Eire Og in Eire Og. All the players have done themselves and the club proud in getting this far and it is no doubt they will fly the flag of the club & county with great honour over the entire weekend. Best of Luck to all the players and management. We would encourage anybody who can to come down for some or all of the weekend to support the lads all the way.

 

U16 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Na Fianna U16 Footballers resume their Championship campaign after the exam break as they take on St Vincents in Rd 2 next Monday (27 June) @ 7:30pm in Geashill. All Support would be appreciated.

CONGRATULATIONS

Na Fianna Football Club would like to congratulate Conor Brophill, Caolan Flanagan and Evan Gorman along with the rest of the Offaly U17 Hurling Team who won the Celtic Challenge Final last Saturday in Nowlan Park beating South Kilkenny.

 

U6 / U8 FOOTBALL TRAINING

Na Fianna U6's & U8's Football Training continues on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in Geashill. All players and intending players are asked to attend training.

Na Fianna U10's Football Training continues on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in Geashill. All players and intending players are asked to attend training.

 

U12 FOOTBALL TRAINING
