Football League Mid-Tier Division 1

Daingean played 2 league games in the last week both against strong senior opposition. Tullamore 1-15 to Daingean 0-8. Despite the score line this is a game the lads will look back and think that they may have won it. Daingean lead right throughout the first half against a string breeze and poor weather conditions. The half time score was Daingean 0-6 to Tullamore 0-4. The second half continued in the same vein until after 15 minutes when Tullamore eventually got in front. Superior fitness and a couple of good substitutions by Tullamore helped them to push on and win comfortably in the end. Daingean team: Conan Curley, Colm O'Shea, Colm Brophy, Colin Brennan, Stephen Byrnes, Danny Mangan, Johnny McGrath, David Walsh, Conleth Carey, David Feely, Jamie Hayes, Ciaran McEvoy, Cathal Egan, Charlie Hayes

Clara 5-15 to Daingean 1-9. Daingean intermediates hosted senior outfit Clara on Sunday morning last. Both teams had little to play for as the league positions would not be affected by the outcome. In the end Clara ran out easy winners and go on to top the league having won every match. Daingean will now play in Division 3 in the second phase of the league. Daingean team: Niall Farrelly, Dallan Goulding, Colm Brophy, Paddy Sheerin, Alan McEvoy, Cathal Egan, Padraig Ferguson, Danny Mangan, David Walsh, Adrian Flannery, Ciaran McEvoy, Jamie Hayes, Shane Kirwan, Charlie Hayes, Conleth Carey.
