The Rhode Warriors started their first ever training session last Saturday morning in Rhode GAA field great fun was had by all included in the photo is Danny Leavy, Jack Kilmurray, Fergal McNamee, Gordon Kerrigan and Cathal Swords. Training continues every Saturday morning at 10am all 4 to 6 year old boys are welcome to attend.  Cul camps will be held in Rhode GAA field dates are 20th to 24th July any info contact Cathal Smith or Tracey Murphy Training for boys Under 8's Under 10 and Under 12's continue on Wednesday evening at 7pm and Saturday mornings at 10am

 

 

Rhode Senior footballers qualified for the Offaly Division 1 League football final when on Tuesday evening last in Rhode, Rhode recorded a 3-18 to 0-10 win over old rivals Edenderry.  Rhode will now play Clara in the final as they beat Tubber 2-8 to 1-12 in Tubber on the as night.

 

Rhode Junior B footballers were well beaten by Clara in Clara on Friday night on a score line of 4-13 to 1-6.  Despite the defeat Rhode have qualified for the quarter final of the championship.

 

The best of luck to Offaly Senior footballers who play Kildare in the second round of the qualifiers in O'Connor Park on this Saturday at 3pm.  On the team and panel from the club for selection are Niall Darby, Ken Garry, Bryan Darby, Eoin Rigney, James McPadden, Conor McNamee, Anton Sullivan, Niall McNamee and Paul McPadden.

The best of luck to the Offaly Senior hurlers who play Clare in the first round of the All-Ireland Senior hurling qualifier on Saturday in Ennis at 7pm.

 

Offaly Under 21 hurlers were beaten 2-16 to 1-12 by Wexford in O'Connor Park on Wednesday evening.  Offaly led at the interval by 0-9 to 0-8. 

 

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 22nd of June for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 1 4 6 28.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Killeen's for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €50 each.  The draw this week takes place in O'Toole's.

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!

 

 

Sympathy is extended to the McGlynn family of Rhode on the death of Phil who died in Ofalia House on Tuesday of last week in her 94th year and whose remains were interred in Rhode cemetery on Sunday.  May she Rest In Peace.
