Kildare and Offaly minors will have to play their next two championship games away from home as punishment for the ugly melee which marred last week's Leinster clash in O'Connor Park, Tullamore.

An unnamed Kildare player has also been hit with a three-match suspension for his part in the brawl which broke out after the final whistle.

There were claims that players were punched, head-butted and even bitten during the unsavoury episode which followed Kildare's 0-14 to 0-13 victory.

According to The Irish Daily Star, there was no video evidence available to provincial disciplinary chiefs but they based their investigation on referee Stephen Johnson's report.
