Offaly minor manager Joe Errity admits that they must step up a level when they face Dublin in the Leinster MHC on Saturday afternoon.

Having defeated Carlow comfortably in the opening round, the Faithful County must travel to Parnell Park where they will face a strong Dublin side.

Errity spoke to the Midland Tribune about the step up in class facing his charges this weekend.

"It is daunting for Offaly teams whether it be football or hurling to go and play Dublin but that performance of the minor footballers was excellent so hopefully we can get some inspiration from that," said Errity.

"We all here about all the work being done in Dublin and the amount of teams and coaches. There is savage work being done up there and in both codes they have head starts on teams like Offaly.

"That in itself gets into lads heads but ultimately, it's what you do on the pitch that will be the difference. Carlow are at that level. We were expected to beat them and we did but we are moving on to the next tier now on Saturday."
