Football

Daingean entertained senior outfit, Gracefield, on Saturday afternoon in round 3 of the league. Unfortunately for the home side, they succumbed to a 3rd successive defeat.

Having gone into the break only a point down, hopes were high that Daingean could spring a surprise on their Portarlington counterparts, but the concession of a couple of goals in the early stages of the 2nd half killed off any hopes of a revival. A late David Walsh goal provided little if any consolation. There were encouraging signs throughout though and the return of a few players over the coming weeks will add some strength to the squad ahead of the next outing away to Shannonbridge.

Final score: Daingean 1-6 Gracefield 4-5
