Faithful head into unknown

Offaly manager Pat Flanagan

Offaly manager Pat Flanagan admits that they are heading into the unknown at the weekend.

The Faithful county are strong favourites to defeat London over there on Sunday, but Flanagan is issuing an air of caution.

The former Westmeath and Sligo manager told the Midland Tribune that facing a side that you don't know much about always brings about its own problems.

"Our biggest issue is to know the opposition and our own team. We do not know our own team and what they are capable of," said Flanagan.

"We don't know what we are up against and their depth in strength. It is a strange pitch too. We are on the back foot a little bit but we have to believe in ourselves and what we did in the O'Byrne Cup."
