Offaly's exciting young forward Peter Cunningham is expected to miss most, if not all, of the Allianz Football League after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The Faithful, who are coming off the back of an encouraging O'Byrne Cup campaign, will travel to London for their Division 4 opener on February 1, but will do so without the Bracknagh clubman who is facing up to 10 weeks on the sidelines. Midfielder Ruairi Allen is also set to miss the second half of the league due to overseas work commitments.

On the plus side, manager Pat Flanagan is expected to welcome back the Rhode players who were excused for the O'Byrne Cup, including star forwards Niall McNamee and Anton Sullivan.
