Dublin opened their O'Byrne Cup campaign with a 1-12 to 1-5 win over Maynooth University at Parnell Park.
Eoghan O'Gara bagged 1-3 for the Leinster champions who raced into a 1-2 to 0-0 lead inside six minutes. Three Dean Rock frees had extended their advantage to 1-7 to 0-3 by half-time, with Barry Dardis scoring twice for Maynooth.
Making their debut in the competition, Maynooth resumed with a point from Barry Duggan and a well-taken Dardis goal to reduce the deficit to four, 1-8 to 1-4. But Dublin ended their comeback with points from Tomas Brady and Shane Carthy.
Elsewhere, there were wins from Kildare, Offaly, UCD, Meath, DIT and Wicklow.
