St. Vincent's manager Tommy Conroy insists his side's Leinster club SFC final victory over Rhode was hard-earned.

This is despite the fact the reigning All-Ireland champions raced into an early 1-5 to 0-0 lead and eventually ended up winning by 10 points.

"I don't think it was straightforward. I think we got a good start in the first half. We were playing into a tough wind," the 1983 Dublin All-Ireland winner said.

"I think it died a bit in the second half, but we were very happy to get in at half-time where we were."

Conroy's thoughts were already turning to next February's mouth-watering All-Ireland semi-final against Corofin, who won the Galway and Connacht titles in a canter.

"There was a pal of mind from Galway in touch with me earlier this year saying: 'Watch out for Corofin.' I said: 'God, are they that good?' He said: 'I'm telling you now Tommy, this team, they are exceptional.'

"I think they (Corofin) have great structures at underage and I have been very impressed with them, looking at who they beat in Connacht. It's something to look forward to. It's great to be back in an All-Ireland semi-final."
