Kevin Brady has followed his long-time Offaly hurling team-mate Rory Hanniffy into inter-county retirement.
The Coolderry man played senior hurling for the Faithful County for 11 years, making his debut in an Allianz League game against Tipperary in February 2003. He went on to make 97 appearances, including 37 in the championship. He won Allianz League Division 2 medals in 2005 and '09, and also captained his county in 2008.
The centre back, who was a key figure for Coolderry in their march to their 2012 All-Ireland club final, will continue to line out at club level.
There is speculation that another former Offaly captain, David Kenny, will also call it a day due to ongoing injury problems.
