Football

Daingean made the trip to Carlow on Sunday to take on local side, Ballon, in the Leinster Junior Football Championship quarter-final. Unfortunately, things didn't go our way on the day. The concession of 3 goals along with the harsh dismissal of two of our players early in the 2nd half contributed greatly to our downfall. But the team never gave up and battled right to the very end, which was a testament to the effort put in by everybody this year.

A big thanks to the team management, selectors and other volunteers for your efforts over the year. The club would also like to thank all of those who made the trip to Carlow on Sunday to support the team. The support from the local community has been exceptional this year and hopefully it can continue long into the future. We would also like to thank Maunsell's for providing a post-match meal for the squad and to Killeshal Precast Concrete for their generous sponsorship too. That brings the curtain down on a hugely successful year for Daingean GAA, on and off the field. I think its safe to say that we can all now look forward to 2015 with great optimism.
