Kilcormac/Killoughey captain Dan Currams believes that the strength in depth of the squad is driving them on.

The county star stressed that no player could rest on his laurels as there was someone to step into their place at a moment's notice.

Speaking to the Midland Tribune ahead of the Offaly senior hurling championship final against St Rynagh's on Sunday afternoon, Currams feels that the players are driven this year.

"There has never been as much competition for places," said Currams. "There is serious competition and it is helping us to drive on.

"If you are not hurling well there are lads there waiting to come in."
