Football

Daingean made the trip to the county grounds on Saturday to take on familiar foes, Clonmore Harps in this eagerly awaited Junior A football championship semi-final. Daingean started impressively and looked to be well in control of this match after the opening quarter or so. But despite the dominance, they were finding it quite difficult to put the scores on the board, and the Harps slowly but surely worked their way back into the game with some efficient use of their possession late in the half to leave just three in it at the break.

Clonmore started the second half the better and continued to chip away at Daingean's lead. With the game level heading into the last 5 minutes, it was there for the taking. Neither side were able to take advantage of this opportunity, however, and both teams will probably feel relieved to get a second chance at it the next day.
