The late Dermot Hogan.
GAA President Liam O'Neill has led the tributes to Offaly U-21 hurling manager Dermot Hogan who tragically died following an accident at his family farm on Thursday evening.

"Dermot's passing is an enormous loss to the GAA, his County Offaly and his club Coolderry," O'Neill said in a statement.

"He held a very special place in the hearts of his local community and was involved from the grassroots up."

A selector with the Faithful County's minor hurling team in 2013, Dermot was appointed manager of the U-21s this year.

"His commitment to his club was outstanding, he managed Coolderry to minor hurling success in 2008 and steered the club to an Offaly U21 title in 2010," O'Neill continued.

"He was a true GAA man and I know the sense of shock and loss throughout the local community has been widespread.

"Our thoughts and prayers and those of the wider GAA family are with his wife Marie, daughters Lisa, Rachel and Ciara, parents Kieran and Margaret, his immediate family and wide circle of friends at this very sad time.

"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis."
