Rhode and Edenderry win in SFC

July 25, 2014
Rhode and Edenderry are on course to reach the knockout stages of the Offaly SFC after chalking up wins over Ballycumber and St. Brigid's respectively last night.

Rhode needed a late goal from Padraig Sullivan to seal a 2-10 to 1-8 victory over Ballycumber at Killeigh. The defeat was Ballycumber's third on the trot and leaves them in grave danger of slipping down to the new senior 'B' championship next year.

Fresh from their emphatic Division 1 league final victory over Tullamore, Edenderry doled out a 3-18 to 1-4 defeat to a St. Brigid's side who had beaten Tubber and Walsh Island in their previous games.

The remaining SFC third round games take place this evening and on Sunday. At Cloghan this evening, Kilcormac/Killoughey - who conceded the points to St. Rynagh's in the last round - face Clara, while on Sunday, St. Rynagh's meet Ferbane in Shannonbridge, Tubber take on Walsh in Killeigh and Tullamore and Gracefield lock horns at Gracefield.
