DIVISION 3 HURLING LEAGUE
Raheen Hurlers suffered their first defeat of the year as they came out on the wrong side of a 2-15 to 2-11 scoreline against Shamrocks in Rahan last Sunday morning in Rd 2 of the League. Raheen got off to the ideal start as they opened the scoring with a goal on 3 mins when Conor Dunne's free from about 70m out went all the way into the net. Shamrocks then got going with a point followed by their first goal on 9 mins. The remainder of the half saw Shamrocks edge ahead scoring 7 points to Raheen's 4 so at the break Shamrocks led 1-08 to 1-04. The early stages of the second half saw Raheen shoot at least 7/8 wides along with the 3 points they did put over to Shamrocks 2 points and these wides would ultimately cost the game. Then midway through the half Raheen had a chance to equalise when they were awarded a penalty when Richie Reynolds was brought down but Ciaran Direen's shot was saved and over the next 10 mins each of Raheen's attempts to cut the defecit were twarted by Shamrocks as both sides added 4 points apiece. Then with 2 mins left Raheen's Gary Martin who was only just on the pitch made an immediate impact as he picked up the ball in the corner and made a run for goal before planting it in the net for goal no 2 but Shamrocks again hit back immediately with a goal of their own. Both sides completed the scoring with their final point apiece as Shamrocks held on to claim the win.

U 14 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna U14 Footballers showed their determination and were almost rewarded with a great comeback but just fell short as they lost out to Edenderry in Rd 2 of the League last Monday week in Edenderry on a scoreline of 3-11 to 4-04. Na Fianna got off to the perfect start when after conceding the first point they got off the mark with a goal on 3 mins when Mikey Buckley gave a pass to full forward Lee Meally who finished it to the net. Then from the resultant kickout Na Fianna worked the ball straight back in where Lee Mulpeter was on hand to fire in goal no 2 and they added on 3 points over the next 5 mins which is how it remained until the final 10 mins when Edenderry came right back into it scoring 1-03 without reply and so at the break Na Fianna led 2-03 to 1-04. Na Fianna pointed a free early in the second half but from here on Edenderry took over for the next 25 mins as they scored 2-07 in a row to go 10 points in front and the game wrapped up but Na Fianna did not give up as they fought back by scoring 2 goals from Mikey Buckley in the final 2 mins and almost got a third but were just denied with a save and so Edenderry held on for the win.
