U 14 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna U14 Footballers put in a battling display as they lost out to Ferbane / Belmont on a scoreline of 4-12 to 2-10 in Rd 1 of the League last Monday week in Geashill. F/B started brightly and after 20 mins looked like they were going to win convincingly as they led by 2-05 to 0-02 but the final 10 mins Na Fianna came back into it scoring 1-03 to 1-02 and so at the break F/B led 3-07 to 1-05. Na Fianna got stuck in at the start of the second half putting over 3 points to 1 and when Lee Mulpeter blasted a shot from the edge of the square in to the top corner of the net for his and Na Fianna's second goal midway through the half, the deficit was down to just a goal but over the final 15 mins Na Fianna gave all their subs a run out as F/B kept most of their starting team on the field which helped them to wrap it up scoring 1-04 to Na Fianna's 2 points.

Na Fianna then added 3 points to go 3 in front midway through the half before K/K put over their first point of the half. The sides then exchanged a goal apiece, Na Fianna's fired in by Lee Mulpeter before K/K struck for 2 more goals to put them back in front. Na Fianna pushed on from here adding 3 more points to Edenderry's 1-01 before Na Fianna wrapped it up with 4 mins left when corner forward Jack O'Brien took a pass just inside the square and rounded his man then blasted his shot into the net for goal no 2.
