Shamrocks GAA Notes

May 20, 2013
20th Anniversary of Rahan pitch:
The 20th anniversary of the opening of Rahan Gaa field will occur on the 233rd May 2013. The pitch was officially opened by President Jack Bootman with a challenge match between Offaly and Westmeath senior footballers.
There are a number of commemorative programmes from the occasion available at a cost of €5 from Des Dunne. Des can be contacted on 087752 7947. All proceeds raised will be used for the promotion and coaching of underage GAA.
The programmes contain lots of images from teams which represented the parish down through the years as well as some interesting match reports and facts from the time. It is well worth a read.

Division 1 Football:
The intermediate footballers had a good victory over neighbours Erin Rovers on Sunday evening in Pullough. Shamrocks led 9 points to 4 at half time before emerging victors on a score of 2-11 to 0-09. It is vital all players continue to make the effort to attend all games and training where possible.

Important Reminders:
All players in hurling are reminded that helmets are compulsory at all times in training and in games.
The minor footballers are reminded of the requirement to wear gum shields at all times including training also.
We would like to remind everyone that any outstanding membership payments should be made as soon as possible.
