On the 21st April 2020, former All Ireland winner, Offaly and Rhode footballer Stephen Darby and former Offaly and current Rhode footballer Paraic Sullivan, take on a five day continuous cycle in aid of the Make A Wish Foundation and Rhode GAA club.

With proceeds from the event being split 50/50, this event will bring joy and happiness to those who need it most and also help provide vital funds to ensure the growth and progression of our wonderful club.

The continuous cycle will start on Fahy hill and will mean one of the two men will be on the bike at all times for the 5 days. They will take off in 6 hour sessions on a selected route and tag the other back in once the 6 hours is up. They will work throughout the night and on their final 6 hours they will arrive back in the village together.

In the coming days a gofundme page will be set up for people to donate and there will also be a website going live to spread awareness of the event and to showcase where those vital funds will be going.

Thanks to all for supporting.

Offaly GAA are looking to recruit new referees.

So will you put your whistle where your mouth is and perform what is a crucial role for the Association?

Benefits of becoming a referee include the following:

Stay active in the GAA and represent your club.

Stay fit and healthy and develop your personal skills.

The possibility of refereeing finals in O’Connor Park or even Croke Park.

Give something back – offers players at the end of their careers an opportunity to continue in the sport.
