The 2021 Offaly senior hurling championship will be played under a new format.

Instead of eight teams competing in senior level, there will be ten teams challenging for the senior hurling championship title.

Delegates at the November meeting of the county board voted in favour of the change for 2021.

This means that there will be no relegation from senior next year, while both senior ‘B’ finalists will be promoted to the top grade.

The 2021 SHC will consist of two groups of five and the finer details of the structure will be decided upon at a later date.
