Michael Duignan is set to run for the position of Offaly GAA chairman later this year.
Midlands 103 is reporting that the RTE pundit and two-time All-Ireland winning hurler will challenge Gracefield's Tommy Byrne for the top job at annual convention.
Duignan is part of a group of high-profile Offaly GAA personalities who have come together to challenge for a number of positions on the county board. The group, which also includes hurling legend Brian Whelahan and former All-Ireland football winner Stephen Darby, met last month to discuss the direction of Offaly GAA's fortunes, their concerns and their next move before the board's selection convention in November.
