Ballycumber GAA Club notes

September 03, 2019

Tullamore Court Hotel Senior B Football Championship.

Bracknagh 1—15 Ballycumber 0—10.

Ballycumber raced into a four points to one lead in this game played in the excellent Faithful Fields on Friday night. Cormac Quinn pointed a close in free and Sean Hackett added two points and Luke Gavin Mangan scored one. But a number of scoring chances were missed including a goal opportunity which flew past the post after great work by Ethan Keena. Bracknagh had also missed chances and added two points to their total. They won possession at mid field and quickly created an overlap to leave a forward with a goal scoring chance which he took very well. Bracknagh now gained control in the middle third and added four points to one in reply from Sean Hackett before half time.

Bracknagh scored the first point of the new half and Joe Lowry replied with a point from a free. Bracknagh added four points before N, Grennan pointed a free when the ball was brought back for earlier infringement after Joe Lowry had bundled the ball into the net when the goalkeeper dropped the slippery ball. Joe added two more points with an outstanding point from play and the other from a free. Bracknagh added three points from play and N.Grennan scored Ballycumber’s final point from play and as a result of the group games Ballycumber will play against Walsh Island in the quarter final while Bracknagh topped the group and are safely in the semi final.
