Ballycumber GAA Club notes

August 27, 2019

Ballycumber GAA Club.

Tullamore Court Hotel Junior B Championship Football Quarter Final.

Ferbane   0----8  Ballycumber 0---3.

The loss of players through injury and work commitments cost Ballycumber in this low scoring encounter in Pullough on Tuesday evening. Ferbane scored five points in the first half with three from play and a free and a 45. Ballycumber had many shots at the goals ,but, the ball would not go between the posts and as a result the half time score was 0—5 to 0—0. The sides drew the second half with three points each. Mel Guinan opened Ballycumber account with a point from a free and his brother Leo kicked a long range point. Wing back Jamie Cornally kicked the ball over the bar from near the sideline. Ferbane got three points from play to run out winners.

The management team of Vinny Minnock and Declan Daly deserve great credit for fielding teams because of the shortage of numbers and the players responded to their encouragement and gave ever thing in all their games. Well done and Thanks to everyone involved.
