DIV 2 FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Unfortunately the losing start to the year continues for Raheen Senior Footballers as Ballycumber claimed the win in Rd 2 of the Div 2 League last Friday evening in Ballycumber on a scoreline of 4-09 to 1-11. In the first half Raheen took an early lead 0-06 to 1-01 but the concession of 2 more goals by Raheen in the last 10 mins of the half put Ballycumber in control, that 3rd goal coming from a penalty which actually was Ballycumber’s second penalty with the first well saved by Raheen keeper James Boland. So at the break Ballycumber led 3-04 to 0-08. Raheen got the perfect start to the second half when straight from the throw in the ball was won by James Lalor who worked his way in before passing to Conor Carroll in the middle of the square and he fired his shot to the net for the goal to cut the deficit to 2 points. This would be as good as it would get for Raheen as along with having a penalty of their own saved a further 1-05 scored by Ballycumber to Raheen’s 3 points wrapped up the win for the home side.

RAHEEN GAA OUTING

Raheen GAA Club are organising a Croke Park Tour incorporating a tour of the Croke Park grounds and museum on Saturday 04 May 2019. Bus leaves Geashill @ 10am & Cloneygowan @ 10:15am and will arrive back by 5pm approx. Cost is €20 Adults & €10 Children including Bus & Stadium Tour. All are welcome to come along.
