Holders Naas CBS enjoyed a big victory over fellow Kildare schools Maynooth SS in the Leinster PP Schools SF ‘A’ competition (Bosco Cup) today while there were also wins for Moate CS, St Pat’s and  Sc Aodhain. 

Despite leading by just six points at the halfway stage, Naas inflicted a 6-14 to 0-5 defeat on Maynooth at Blanchardstown IT.

They scored five second-half goals to finish with a massive 27 points to spare.

A last minute goal helped Moate to a 2-8 to 1-8 Group C victory over Good Counsel while St Pat’s pulled away in the second-half to record a 1-16 to 1-6 Group F win away to St Mary’s, Edenderry which secured the Navan school a quarter-final berth.

In St. Benildus, Sc Aodhain were always comfortable in a 2-15 to 0-8 victory over the home side to ensure they bounced back from their Round 1 defeat at the hands of Naas CBS.

The Sc Mhuire Clane versus Colaiste Eoin fixture was called off while the Group D clash between St. Mel’s Longford and Marist Athlone will be played in Killoe tomorrow (Thursday) at 7pm.
