Today was the start of the penultimate stage of the All-Ireland senior and minor football championships.

The year has really flown by as we had just the four teams left in the SFC with our finalists set to be decided over the weekend.

First up, this afternoon, Galway were handed the tough task of taking on Dublin at Croke Park. Throw in at 5pm.

Preceding this clash was the meeting of Galway and Meath in the All-Ireland minor football championship semi-final. Throw in here was at 3pm.

This year's football championship has come in for a lot of citicism, but in recent weeks we have seen some outstanding clashes and this weekend could be no different.
