Under 13 Football

Tullamore Under 13 Footballers were very disappointed after suffering a narrow defeat to St. Vincents on Fri. evening last at a rain drenched Ballycommon venue.

The game began well for Tullamore as they secured the first three scores of the game  taking an early lead of 1-2 to no score. St. Vincents fought back and scored a goal and a point to narrow the gap. The sides exchanged a further goal each and Tullamore had a narrow lead at half time.

Tullamore pressurised  early in the second half and added further points but Vincents were always able to come back. It looked good for Tullamore when they scored two quick goals in succession to lead by three points in the closing stages. However it was not to be their day as St. Vincents ability to play to the final whistle yielded two goals of their own and the ran out the winners on a scoreline of Tullamore 4-8. St, Vincents 6-5.

Tullamore B had to make do with a training session on Saturday morningwhen St. Manchans failed to field a team for their championship game.

Both teams can look forward with enthusiasm as they can both qualify for the knockout stages over the coming weeks as training continues in Dr. Kellys Field.
