Ballycumber GAA Club.

Division 2 Football League.

Ballycumber 7-9  Bracknagh 1-9.

The visitors to Ballycumber on Saturday afternoon got off to a bright start and had two points on the board before Sean Hackett got the home sides first point. Sean got the sides level just before Cormac Quinn and Gary Larkin scored a goal each. Three points in arrow from Sean, Gary and Joe Lowry extended the lead further. Three goals in a row from Chris McDonald, Joe Lowry and Sean Hackett made the result secure by the 20th minute. Tom Corcoran scored a point from long range and Joe Lowry finished the first half scoring with a goal and a point. Bracknagh added one point to their total to leave the half time score at 6-7 to 0-3.

The scoring rate for the home side dried up in the second half, with only Cormac Quinn and Nigel Grennan adding points and the score of the match came from a young man making his debut. Clive Keena demonstrated great bravery and tenacity to force the ball into the net after a flowing move up the pitch involving a number of players. Bracknagh added 1-6 to their total in a better performance in the second half.

This game was played in ideal conditions on Saturday afternoon and was a good start to 2018 for the home side.
