Currin 1-13, Eire Og 0-12.

Currin staged a very effective resurgence in the final 20 minutes of this match to come from being 2 points down 5 minutes into the 2nd half to booking their place in the final at the expense of an Eire Og side who acquitted themselves well but failed to build on the momentum they created towards the end of the 1st half and in the early minutes of the second-half. Played in difficult conditions this was an even enough contest in the first half as Currin got off to a great start to register four early points but Eire Og gradually settled and with the accuracy of Conor Leonard, who hit some superb points, and Michael Tierney from frees, they had drawn level by the break but effectively should have been in front. Eire Og opened a 2 points lead in the early minutes of the second-half but Currin, who had failed to convert a 1st half penalty gradually regained their composure to outscore their opponents by 1-5 to 0-2 from the 7th minute of the second-half onwards to run out winners by 4 points. Currin finished the game with 14 players after Dick Clerkin was sent off on a second yellow card ten minutes from the end.

Sean McDermotts 2-21, Clones 1-9.

A sharper, more clinical Sean McDermotts experienced little difficulty in booking their place in the final of the Junior football championship when they proved too potent for a disappointing Clones in what turned out to be a quite one sided affair, particularly in the second-half, in Scotstown on Saturday evening last. Sean McDermotts also mastered the difficult conditions that saw persistent rain particularly in the second-half, to better effect, with more assured handling and better support play. Sean McDermotts were never headed in the entire contest with the best that Clones achieved was being level at a point apiece after 3 minutes. Sean McDermotts led by 5 points at half-time and while Clones got that down to four in the opening minute of the second-half by the end of the 3rd quarter Sean McDermotts had pushed their lead out to 12 points, with 2 goals inside 2 minutes later in the second-half turning the game into a veritable rout.
