2017 Ulster Scór na nÓg Final
Last Saturday the 14th of January both the Instrumental Group and Set Dancers lost out narrowly and both finished 2nd to Donaghmore, Tyrone and Glenullin, Derry. Thanks to Niall Grogan, Sinéad Duffy, Lorna Mc Guirk, Aodhan Brennan, Rebecca Brennan, Mark Tomany, Anne Marie Lavelle and Sean Walsh in the Set Dancing and in the Instrumental group Cáit Brennan, Daniel Tomany, Orlaith Brennan, Mark Tomany agus Aodhán Brennan. Thanks to their tutors Pauline Grogan, Angela Mc Cabe. and George Mc Adam.
2017 AGM
The postponed 65th AGM of the Drumhowan GAA Club took place in Drumhowan Community Centre on Thursday the 12th January 2017. Martin Mc Elearney the Chairperson opened the meeting with a moment's silence to remember Niall Mc Adam and Nancy Mc Ardle who died in 2016. Secretary Paul Mc Guirk then read the minutes from the last AGM. The various officers and managers then gave their reports before the election of the committee for 2017.

Best of luck to Donal Mc Adam, Cormac Duffy, John Reilly, Patrick Mulligan and Liam Mc Guirk who were elected into new positions. A 3 man committee of Gerry Finnegan, John Reilly and Donal Mc Adam was appointed to find a new treasurer. Please contact them if you are willing or have any suggestions. The meeting just took over an hour and Chairperson Martin closed it by wishing everyone a successful 2017.
2017 Club Championship Draw - At the Championship draw in Cloghan on Monday night the 16th of January Drumhowan were drawn with Currin. A tight draw to focus the minds.
Féile 2017 -At the end of June 2017 Monaghan ,Cavan and Fermanagh will be hosting the Féile Na nÓg. Hosting is a key part of the ethos of Féile. Host clubs are paired with a visiting team. The players and mentors from the visiting teams stay with members of the host club, and games take place on the host club's pitch.
Drumhowan will be a host club. We will be looking around 14-15 families in the club to host 2 players in your house on Friday night 23rd ...and Sat night 24th June 2017. In order to do this adults in the house will have to complete an online vetting form. We will be contacting people in the next week or two to host players so we would ask especially all our Under 12/13/14/15 parents to help us out in this. We thank the good number of families who have come forward already and now we need more to do so.
Under 10-12-14 - Training will commence in mid February so in advance of that all players are asked to get out and active over the next few weeks and practice those skills again. Time to put the playstations and ipods away !!
Keep Fit 2017 - Anyone interested in getting fit in 2017 or shedding some excess pounds gained over Christmas there are plenty of events on locally. Each Monday evening in Ballybay Town Park at 7pm the Wetlands Group have walking or running depending on your fitness levels. On Wednesdays in Tullycorbett hall at 8pm circuit training takes place . Then each Saturday morning9.30am at the bridge in Lough Muckno you can either run or walk a 5km around the island. So no excuse now get up and active in 2017.
Pitch - Please note the main pitch remains closed for another few weeks following earth quaking and spiking The goal mouths have also been resodded.
Deceased Members Mass - The Club will host a Mass for the late Niall Mc Adam and other deceased members on Friday 27th of January at 8pm in Ballintra. There will also be tea for everyone in the centre afterwards. Please spread the news about this.
