Emyvale Club Notes

August 23, 2016

Championship: Emyvale get a second bite of the cherry when they travel to Clontibret to take on Cremartin in the Mc Elvaney Waste & Recycling Intermediate Championship on Saturday evening. Throw in time is 4.15pm so please support our team in their quest to advance in this competition.
Intermediate League: Emyvale were defeated by Corduff on Sunday last in the Intermediate League. It was a below par performance having only scored two points in the first half. They improved in the second but were unable to close out the game even though they had chances.
Minors: Emyvale Minor Team met Na Mullai Sarsfields on Tuesday week last & it was an exciting, edge of the seat encounter with both sides giving their all & showing all the skills of the game. The lead changed hands on several occasions & it was impossible to predict who would win. Emyvale had a chance to seal the victory in the final minute of normal time but the chance was squandered & so it went to extra time. Once again Emyvale had a free kick in the final minute but this too was squandered & so it went to a replay which was played on Tuesday evening last. No result available when writing this.
Thanks: A massive thanks to all those who turned up on Sunday last & gave of their time to act as
stewards, kitchen staff, traffic directors, stand in umpire etc to ensure the smooth running of the Senior Championship match between Clontibret & Monaghan.
