Scotstown's hopes of retaining the Mick Duffy Cup remain intact after they registered a 0-18 to 0-12 victory over Carrickmacross at the weekend.
Beaten by Latton last weekend, the champions bounced back with this backdoor win in Aughnamullen. With the Hughes brothers - Darren and Kieran - prominent in attack, Scotstown led by 0-12 to 0-7 at half-time and they managed to extend their advantage in the second half, despite losing Fergal McPhillips to a straight red card late on.
In the other qualifier game at Emyvale, 13 points from Conor McManus helped Clontibret to a 0-15 to 0-9 win over Monaghan Harps.
Meanwhile, Ballybay and Magheracloone have booked their semi-final places. Ballybay were emphatic 2-15 to 0-4 winners over Truagh in Clontibret, while Magheracloone held on for a 0-18 to 1-13 victory over 14-man Latton at the same venue.
