Corduff club notes

Intermediate Team:

Our Intermediate went down to a one-point defeat against Rockcorry last Saturday evening on a scoreline of Corduff 2-12 4-07 Rockcorry.

We welcome Inniskeen to Corduff on Wednesday 4th May for a 7:30pm throw-in.

 

Junior Team:

Our Junior team made the trip to Aghabog last week and unfortunately came away empty-handed, finishing on a score-line of 1-17 to 0-08.

 

Minors:

Our Minor team played St. Patricks in Round 4 of the league on Tuesday evening, and were beaten on a scoreline of 3-15 to 0-14.

On Tuesday 3rd May, we entertain Monaghan Harps in Corduff, with a 7:30pm start.

 

Friends of Carrickmacross Cancer Society:

A 5km Walk will take place on Sunday 8th May in Carrickmacross, leaving the Shirley Arms Hotel at 11:00am. Everyone welcome. There are sponsorship cards available and donations to the society are welcome on the day.

The Friends of Carrickmacross Cancer Society would like to sincerely thank the Corduff GAA Club for the use of the facilities for the recent Charity match held.

 

Playing Pitch:

The main pitch is closed for all training sessions until Friday 6th May. All pitch bookings to be made through Seamus McConnon.

 

JUVENILES:

Under 6 / Under 8 / Under 10:

Training as usual on Saturday from 10.00 to 11.15.

Our U10s had their first outing of the year on Saturday, April 23rd. They took part in a Go Games Blitz in Oram with teams from Oram, Blackhill, Toome, Doohamlet.

 

Under 12:

The 2016 Spring League Finals day will be held at Cloghan on Monday May 2nd. Corduff will play Currin at 2pm. Good luck boys & girls!

 

Under 14:

Corduff U14s played Killeevan in Round 3 of the league on Saturday April 23rd. The Corduff team controlled the game from start to finish and ran out comfortable winners. The final score was Killeevan (5-3) v (11-9) Corduff.

Round 4 is a home fixture against Doohamlet on Saturday May 7th.

 

LADIES:

Under 16 League:

The U16s had their first game of the season last Thursday evening when they welcomed Doohamlet to sunny Corduff. Led by their captain Dearbhla Callan they put in a massive team effort and registered their first win of 2016. Both teams were even for the first quarter but when Corduff found their rhythm they pushed ahead and dominated the reminder of the match winning on a score line of 4-07 to 1-08. The team was as follows: Ciara Farrelly,Naoise Cunningham,Lorna Hand,Abbie McGivney,Georgia Smyth,Shannon Duffy Dunne,Sadhbh Cassidy,Dearbhla Callan,Chloe Finnegan,Elena McEnaney,Leona Hill,Kayla Hand,Annie Brennan & Bekki Carragher. Congratulations to the team and managers Declan Kernan and Dermot Hand.

 

County Minors:

The Monaghan Minors are in action again this Saturday when they play Armagh in Portadown. They go into this game with a clean sheet of 2 wins out of 2 and we wish them good luck in this encounter especially to player Sarah McEnaney and Fiona Patton Management.

Throw in is at 12 noon and your support would be welcome.

 

HANDBALL:

24-Hour Handball Marathon:

The Handball Club will be running a 24-hour Handball marathon, in aid of the Corduff GFC Development Fund, beginning this Friday evening and finishing on Saturday evening. Sponsorship Cards are available from any Committee member. A jersey signed by Paul Brady is up for grabs in a raffle which will be held in the Mountain Dew at 10:00pm on Saturday night. All support is welcome.
