Our U14 team take on Cootehill in the Tri-County hurling league on Monday next, the 7th of September in Cootehill. Players are meeting at Lidl at 6pm and game throws in at 7.15

U16s

The U16 team received a walkover from Truagh in the Gerry's Fruit and Veg U16 Hurling Championship semi final and will now take on Carrickmacross in a repeat of last year's final. This game is due to be played next week, with the time, date and venue still subject to confirmation. Details to follow on social media

Minors

Unfortunately our lads came up short despite a brave performance in the Silver Hill Minor Hurling Championship final on Sunday. The team have come on well under the guidance of Paul Duffy and some excellent individual displays proved that the future is bright for this bunch of players, many of whom will make the step up to reserve and senior level over the next couple of years

Hurling Wall-ball competition

Monaghan coaching and games are delighted to announce that a Hurling wall ball competition will take place in Cloghan over the coming months. The Hurling wall ball competition will run for  5 weeks and  will take place on Saturday mornings from 26th September - 24th October  at Cloghan. The competition is aimed at all U12, U14 & U16 players within all the hurling clubs in Monaghan.  Players will  practice the basic skills in hurling and then take part in Wall-ball Skill Drills. Players will finish by playing  each other in a one wall hurling competition at the end of each session. The purpose of the session is to give players ideas on how they might practice using a wall, and also to give them an opportunity to add a variety of  new hurling skills to their game. Players can get more information and register through their coaches or by contacting Aidan Kelly on 0870998036
