Ulster to host Wheelchair Hurling Tournament

Ulster GAA president Martin McAviney at the launch of the Ulster Wheelchair Hurling Tournament

Ulster GAA will host the first round of the M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincial league for 2015 on Saturday (10am- 3pm) at the Barry McGuigan Sports Hall, Colaiste Oiriall, Monaghan.

Ulster GAA president Martin McAviney met with principal Brendan O Dufaigh, event coordinators and representatives of the Ulster squad to officially launch the event. 

He said: "M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincial league is a fantastic All Ireland tournament opening our games to people of all abilities.

"We are tremendously proud of the M Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Initiative, as it provides a competitive tournament for those with mobility issues.  This is part of the GAA's wider inclusion strategy.

"I commend all those participating and I have no doubt we will have a great tournament ahead of us this weekend."
