Go Games

Our U8 and U10 teams took part in the Monaghan GAA Go Games hurling blitz organised in Cloghan last Wednesday. Blayney were represented by three U8 teams and two U10 teams. Each team got at least three matches against teams from Carrickmacross, Clontibret and East Cavan Gaels. Thanks to everyone involved and particularly to all of our club referees for helping out on the night. We have another blitz next Wednesday in Carrickmacross leaving St Mary's Park at 6.30

U16

Our U16 team suffered their first defeat of the year to Carrickmacross on Monday night. Despite good individual performances from Colin Merrick, Kian O'Connor, Stephen Irwin and Craig Callan, we struggled to match a much sharper Carrick side. U16 training and games now takes a break for a couple of weeks as many of our players prepare to sit their Junior Cert exams.

Seniors

Our reserve team had a good win against Truagh in the Development League last Thursday. Having won two and lost two so far in the league, this Thursday's game against Monaghan Harps could prove decisive and we would urge as many people as possible to get along to support the team. Throw in is in Monaghan at 8pm

Annual Street Collection

Our annual Street Collection will be held in Castleblayney this weekend and we would ask the public to please support us if at all possible. All proceeds go towards the running of our juvenile teams and is vital to us as a source of funding. If you are available to help out for an hour or two on either Saturday or Sunday, please contact Hugh Cullen or Catriona Quirke

Nicky Rackard Cup

Commiserations to the Monaghan Senior Hurling Team who lost out to Donegal at the weekend, ending their involvement in the Nicky Rackard Cup. All involved with the team can be very proud of their efforts

Congratulations

Congratulations to all of the children in the club who have made their First Holy Communion over the past two weekends
