Emyvale GAA Club Notes

March 18, 2015

The late Dermot McKenna:  The club extends its sympathies to the family of the late Dermot McKenna, Doaghies, Glaslough, who died suddenly on Friday 13 March. Dermot represented both club and county with distinguished service. He played in Emyvale's half back line in the senior county final in 1986 and also won an Ulster medal with the county team of the mid 1980s. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam uasal.

The Late Johnnie McAree:  The club suffered a second bereavement last week-end with the passing of the late Johnnie McAree, formerly of Main Street, Emyvale.  Johnnie was a regular with the Emyvale senior team during the early 'fifties, playing in the number twelve jersey from 1951 to 1954.  One of his proudest achievements was the capturing of a Clara Feis Cup medal in 1951.
