National Anthem Workshop
As announced at the Ulster Convention plans to hold a workshop for singers of our National Anthem were in progress. This initiative has the support and encouragement of Máirtin Mac Aibhne our Uachtaran. It has now been arranged for Wednesday 25th February at 7.30 in the Tyrone GAA Centre at Garvaghey. The purpose is to bring uniformity to the singing of our National Anthem initially at Comhairle Uladh games with a natural spin off to games within Counties. To ensure proper pronunciation of Irish and of timing plus overall presentation, giving full and proper respect to our National Anthem. All Counties are encouraged to send a minimum of one singer to the workshop. We would of course welcome additional representatives. This is intended, on this occasion, to be for those who would be of an age to participate in Scór Sinsir. A workshop if deemed necessary for younger singers may be considered at a later stage. Alternatively those who attend this workshop could facilitate similar events in their respective Counties. Máirtin has said that only those who participate in the workshop will be considered as singers for games under the control of Comhairle Uladh. If there is anyone within the club who would like to be considered for singing Amhrán na bhFiann in the future at county matches / GAA events please get in touch and confirm you can attend the National Anthem Workshop in Garvaghy next Wednesday.
