Justin Campbell admits the Roscommon hurlers are eager to avenge last year's Allianz League defeat to Monaghan when the sides renew their rivalry on Sunday.
The Rossies opened their Division 3A campaign with an impressive 1-21 to 1-9 victory over Louth last weekend, but are expecting a tougher test in Castleblayney.
"We got off to a good start last weekend and it was nice to put up a big score," manager Campbell told the Roscommon People.
"Louth were not up to much to be honest, but Gerry Fallon was in super form from frees and when he is on his game, he is as good a free-taker as there is in the game and that was vital last Sunday.
"Both our captain Micheal Kelly and Liam Kilcline are still out, but we are hoping that Ronan O'Meara will be back for next Sunday. Monaghan drew with Tyrone last Sunday and remember that Tyrone won the Nicky Rackard Cup last year, so they will be hard to beat on their home ground.
"But we owe them one after what happened last year in the league. It was a terrible performance from us that day and we will have the chance to put that right on Sunday," the former Galway star added.
