MC DEVITT CUP ULSTER U14 POST PRIMARY SCHOOLS QUARTER FINAL.

St. Malachy's Castlewellan 7-11, Ballybay Community College 1-4.

A stronger, slicker, sharper St Malachy's blitzed their way to the semi-final of the McDevitt Cup at the expense of Ballybay Community College, who, despite their best efforts were simply out classed on the day. St Malachy's were superior in everything they did, they defended well, broke forward in numbers and in players like Matthew Carville, Brendan McKey and Luke Savage they had forwards of real quality who made and took the scores that saw them wrap this contest up quite some time before the finish. Scorers: St. Malachy's: M Carville 2-4, B McKey 2-2, R O'Higgins 1-1, D McVeigh 1-0, L Savage 1-0, S Johnston 0-2, J McVeigh and n Doyle 0-1 each. Ballybay CC: D Dempsey 1-2 (0-2f0, A Mulligan 0-2. ULSTER CLUB LEAGUE.

Monaghan's sole representative in the Ulster club league, which gets underway next weekend, Truagh Gaels, start their campaign with a home game against Naomh Conaill on Sunday, February 1st in St Mellons Park, Truagh.
