Emyvale GAA Club Notes

November 18, 2014

Emyvale GAA Club Notes for Thursday 20th Nov:
Centenary Gala Ball: The long awaited GALA ball took place on Saturday night gone past and what a wonderful night it proved to be. It was a fantastic celebration of everything that is good about our club and the GAA. It was great to see so many members, players, parents, children, coaches and mentors all sharing stories of the highs and lows from old times right up to recent times. There were photographic displays, memorabilia, video clips, Scor Dancers, and the Parade of Cups. The night was also enhanced by photography on the night and by Tommy Bowe who made the effort to attend despite his busy schedule at the moment. We also had GAA Director General Pauric Duffy in attendance who enjoys such a special relationship with our club having previously been team manager and committee member. MC Benny Tierney ensured a great atmosphere and that the busy schedule of events ran efficiently.

The success of the night is a true testament to the hard work of all involved in the Centenary committee. The club have more people to thank than can be written about here but would like to thank all local business that contributed in any way and in particular the Scarna inn and Walsh Mushrooms who bought tables for the event. Thanks to everyone who attended for making this a night that will never be forgotten!

Condolences: The club would like to extend its sympathy to the Reynolds family on the recent death of Ann Byrne in County Offlay sister of former chairman Tony Reynolds.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dilis.
