Hughes eyes more glory

Castleblayney Faughs manager Paul Hughes is eyeing a trip to Croke Park.

The Monaghan champions added the Ulster club junior hurling title to their list of accolades last weekend when they defeated Na Magha in the decider.

Hughes admitted to the Northern Standard that they hadn't thought beyond the Ulster campaign, but added that now the provincial series was won, they would certainly be turning their attention to the next phase.

"Our next stage is now on the All-Ireland stage but to be quite honest we never thought of that before but that's another chance for us now to perform on the big stage and develop our game a bit more," said Hughes.

"We are going to take a month's break and start back before Christmas. It would be a great achievement for us to get to Croke Park to represent Monaghan and we are just one game away from that now and being in the All-Ireland series is a great place to be right now."
