Toome club notes

October 28, 2014

Coffee Morning: There is a coffee morning in the Toome community centre next Sunday morning (2nd November) after 12:00 mass in Broomfield (so around 1pm for the Blayney parishioners) in aid of a special cause. You may have heard that young Ceejay McArdle has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia and is currently receiving treatment. Ceejay has plenty of friends and relations in the Toome area on both sides, most notably the McDonnell clan, and we urge people to come to support him. If anyone wishes to bring anything with them, all food will be well received! Contact Majella on 087-7691279 if you can help in any way.

New Arrivals: Congratulations to our defensive talisman Francis Quinn and Edel on the birth of baby Molly. The latest arrival to the Quinn household shares her father's good timing, as she waited until the football was all wrapped up for the year to make her arrival! Congratulations also to Colm and Eilish O'Reilly on the arrival of baby Conor, Sean has the registration forms sorted already! Joe Brolly made reference recently to the waning Kerry production line, well the Toome production line seems to be improving all the time!

Astroturf: The winter astroturf season has well and truly started and Louis has been busy in the last few weeks, as people are keen to take advantage of the all-weather surface. The Toome facility is unique, as it is adaptable for a number of sports and activities, and it is well kept, ensuring that is in optimum condition, whatever the weather! Contact Louis McDonnell for bookings - 087 6503826.

Congratulations: To the Blayney Hurlers on their groundbreaking victory in the Ulster final on Sunday. They were managed to victory by Paul Hughes, who was a tough defender for the Toome senior team for many a year, and that was without a hurl! Dual star Nathan Adair was also involved in the winning panel, making him Toome's answer to Seán Óg O hAilpín. The hurling club seems to have gone from strength to strength since moving out the road to Toome!

Toome GFC Development Fund GRAND DRAW: Due to the enthusiastic sales so far, we have decided to push back our draw for another while! It was decided that it would be a great windfall for anyone coming up to Christmas. First Prize is a very attractive €5000, with Second and Third prizes of €2000 and €1000. Tickets cost €20 each, or 3 for €50.

Lotto: No winner of the jackpot this week, numbers: 4,6,26,27. Lucky Dip: Raymond Byrne, Megan Byrne, Stephen Lambe, Donaghy Family, Mark Adair Next Week's jackpot is €2500.
