Drumhowan club notes

UJFC - We take on the Armagh Champions Keady in the Ulster Quarter Final on Sunday 2nd November in Crossmaglen  at 12.45pm. Unusually we play an away game in Ulster where we have to travel a shorter distance than we did for our county championship final. The home team  also have to travel further than the away team.

Spraoi Scór Co. Final  - took place  in Clontibret  last Friday night the 17th of October. In the 5 acts we took part in we secured 1 3rd place - Instrumental Music and 4 1st places. These were in Set and Céilí Dancing, Recitation and Quiz. Congratulations to the following who took part.

Winter Program - Our successful indoor winter program that we ran last year recommences on Saturday evenings during the month of November. It will take place in Ballybay Recreation Centre starting on Saturday November 1st from 5-30pm to 6-45pm and run for five weeks. The coaching program is delivered by the club's qualified coaches in a fun environment where children learn the basic skills to play Gaelic football. It is open to both boys and girls aged 5 to 11 years old. Newcomers are very welcome. Children should wear runners and track suit bottoms and take a small bottle of water with them.


Bon Voyage - to John Paul O' Neill who was departed the emerald isle to the land of the long white cloud for a six month work placement. We wish him good luck and look forward to seeing him back for our 2015 Intermediate Campaign.

Halloween Party - Drumhowan Community Group once again will host their Halloween Party night on Friday 31st October. There will be activities for the very young and very old. It starts at 7.30 so come along in fancy dress. More details are revealed in around the villages.

Duffy's Tea Day - Hughie and Rosie Duffy, Cornahoe will be hosting a tea day on Bank Holiday Monday October from 11 am in aid of Cancer charity. More details will follow in the coming weeks.
