GORMLEY U PVC SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL.

Clontibret v Scotstown: Clones: Sunday October 5th @ 4.00pm.

This Sunday is the date for the deciding match for the blue riband of Monaghan football, the Mick Duffy Cup, which is the prize for the winners of the senior football championship. Both Sunday's finalists are coming to Clones  seeking their 16th championship title, Clontibret having last won the senior football championship in 2007, putting titles back-to-back as they were also champions in 2006. Reigning champions Scotstown themselves are also seeking to put titles back-to-back having of course won the championship last year after a gap of 20 years and there is an added incentive for Clontibret as they are seeking to avoid defeat in three consecutive finals, having lost out last year to Sunday's opposition and to Ballybay in 2012.
