U16 Division 2 13 Aside Championship Semi-final:  Emyvale 3:11 Eire Og 1:16
Emyvale U16 team has qualified for the final of this year's Division 2 Championship when they narrowly defeated Eire Og on Thursday evening last in Smithborough. These two teams were very evenly matched with the lead changing hands on a few occasions. Going into the final minutes Emyvale were leading but Eire Og got a free in injury time to level the scores & force the game into extra time. The Emyvale lads were exhausted as they had played the second half & part of the first with twelve players as one of their players had been dismissed for dissent. Eire Og had the better of the exchanges in extra time but Emyvale never gave up & with aching legs drove on & scored a goal in the final minute to secure a place in the county final. The Emyvale panel was: Eoghan Treanor, Michael O'Brien, Aaron O'Neill, Matthew Mc Quaid, Ben Mc Kenna, James Gallagher, Kieran Mc Quaid, Shane Gilbane, Jonathan Hughes, Robbie Mc Allister, Darragh Boyle, Michael Mc Allister, Pauric Duffy, Oisin Campbell, James Boyle, Stephan Mc Quaid, Oisin Murphy, George Brennan.
